I believe in our Pack and believe in a brighter future for NC State. And I know that together, we can achieve a better, more accepting, more inclusive, and more involved campus community.”

Term Highlights

    • Worked to increase Student Government Outreach and Accessibility.

    • Passed Resolution 48.

    • Established a First-Year Senator Partnership with New Student Programs to give First-Year Spring Connect students a more holistic introduction to NC State. 

    • Helped establish the Student Government Executive Standing Department on Campus Services.

    • Worked to pass several pieces of legislation system-wide, ensuring advocacy efforts across the state. 

    • Hosted Monthly Town Halls at the various UNC System Institutions to give students an opportunity to advocate to their State-Level Student Government representatives about their campus issues.

  • Overhauled Student Senate policies and procedures to make the Student Senate more easily accessible to the Student Body. 

    • Began live streaming Senate, increasing accountability measures.

    • Overhauled Senate Proxy Systems, making sure no Student Senator’s voice has to go unheard, even if they can’t attend a meeting. 

      Introduced several resolutions and bills for the betterment of our institution and our Student Government. 

      Worked with the University Office of Information Technology to begin the process of getting Digital Wolfpack Onecards on our campus.

I want to be the type of servant leader that inspired me as a freshman to love and believe in the students of NC State and the mission of this organization to advocate for those students.”

Term Highlights

  • Represented NC State at the UNC Association of Student Governments General Assembly Meeting at UNC Wilmington in Fall of 2022. 

    Worked to improve relationships between other UNC System schools and particularly our relationship with our sister school NC A&T.

    I also began volunteering time to participate in the Pack Meal Share program and have been an avid promoter of the program since.

  • As the ASG Delegate for the 103rd session I researched Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) and how the NC State University Police Department has a requirement and emphasis upon having all of its members participate in the training. 

    My At- Large, Hali Arrington, and I worked to promote and conduct a social media campaign that highlighted five lesser known mental health resources on campus. 

    We hosted a meeting between UPD Chief of Police Chief House and Vice President for Safety & Emergency Operations Fredrick E. Sellers to discuss Safety on NC State’s campus and alignment with UNC System Policy.

    We launched the Be Kind Campaign to promote mental health awareness and the importance of being kind to others. We tabled regularly and had students write kind statements and notes to promote an atmosphere of positivity. As well as tabling and supporting the Spring Out of the Darkness Campus Walk supported by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

  • Though I was only in this role for a month, we worked to increase transparency between construction site changes on campus and student accessibility and traffic diversions. It would lay the foundation alongside the Select Department of Campus Safety for the future Campus Services Department.

  • Campus Safety:

    • Hosted a Summer Chats with the Chief focusing on campus protesting and student rights.

    • Hosted a Fall Chats with the Chief focusing Campus Safety.

    • Hosted a Greek Life Edition of Chats with the Chief focusing on Greek Life and UPD relations as well as general campus safety.

    • Hosted University Police Department and Student Government Leadership meeting to cover various topics affecting students on the issues of greek life, student conduct, the Red Zone, and student safety.

    • Hosted Campus Night Walks between members of Administration and students to look at the accessibility, and safety of North, Main, and Centennial Campus 

    Campus Infrastructure:

    • Increasing student feedback, transparency, and representation in various campus facilities and construction projects. 

      • Cates West 

      • Talley Student Union Building Committee

    • Hosted first ever Campus Physical Master Plan Presentation inviting Associate Vice Chancellor of Facilities Doug Morton to present about and answer questions regarding the 2023 Physical Master Plan. 

    • Hosted a meeting with Transportation asking ways to improve various aspects of transportation on campus.

      • Improving Passiogo

      • Trying to improve the efficiency and capacity of specific routes like route 40, and learn previously unknown backgrounds and knowledge.

    • Partnered openly with Student Organizations such as the City Planning club to bring events and resources back to students.

    • Addressing student concerns with facilities regarding Poe Hall, Sustainability, campus construction, and more.

    Campus Dining and Food:

    • Worked to make the Oval Food Hall a more study friendly and accessible space.

    • Worked to improve the meal options for students with specific food requirements and needs.

    • Dining Student Support Program which created a space for community, conversation, and connection at Clark and Fountain Dining Halls. From student-led tabling to new ways to share campus events, this initiative is all about building friendships over food!

    • Discussed future ventures to improve overall dining options.

    • Though not directly successful, we pushed for a Raising Canes on campus.

Projects

  • Dining Student Support Program which created a space for community, conversation, and connection at Clark and Fountain Dining Halls. From student-led tabling to new ways to share campus events, this initiative is all about building friendships over food!

  • In partnership with the City Planning Club, our department hosted the first ever Campus Physical Master Plan Presentation inviting Associate Vice Chancellor of Facilities Doug Morton to present about and answer questions regarding the 2023 Physical Master Plan.

  • Hosting Q&A public conversations and between Chief of Police Dan House and members of the student body. We have touched on topics related to Greek Life, Wolf Alerts, Sexual Assault, and general campus safety.

  • Working to bring a safe marketplace application to campus that is closed only to NC State Students with a unity ID. Working consistently on the topic of campus safety, I recognize the importance behind having a safe way to buy and sell goods and services beyond snap chat stories and sketchy marketplaces. This project is still in progress and we hope to have it launched during the Dewberry Womble Administration.
